We may disclose personal information without notice to you in response to a subpoena or when we believe in good faith that the law requires it or to respond to an emergency situation.

Child Protection Policy

This Child Protection Policy is an extension of the aforementioned Privacy Policy. All topics discussed in the Privacy Policy apply to children under the age of 13 and all users, regardless of age.

Learning Through Sports encourages parents/guardians to monitor and take a part in their children's online activities. It is important for parents/guardians to know that MySportsmanship.com is compliant with COPPA (Children's Online Privacy Protection Act, www.coppa.org) standards.

COPPA requires that we (a) inform parents and guardians about how we collect, use and disclose personal information from children under the age of 13, (b) obtain the prior verifiable consent of parents and guardians in order for children under the age of 13 to use certain features of the site, (c) do not collect more information than is reasonably necessary for a child to participate in a given activity on this site and (d) provide the parent with the ability to review and delete the information collected about their child.

With your children's protection in mind, we have developed MySportsmanship.com to meet all of these COPPA requirements.

  • All users, regardless of age, have the option to browse our website and view sample content without any personal information being collected.
  • Children under the age of 13 may register for a MySportsmanship.com account, but our administrators will NOT approve the account and will prohibit further activity of the account (i.e., uploading personal videos or images) until a parental consent form is signed and returned to (fax) 205-980-8409 or Learning Through Sports, 1 Mt Laurel Avenue, Suite 210, Birmingham, AL, 35242. (Download Parent Consent Form.)
  • Your child may be asked to provide personal information such as their email address, birthdate, school name, city, and state to register for an account, submit a personal video or image, enter a contest, or submit a question to us. We do not request your child's legal name to register for an account. Only when a user (including your child) submits a question to our Contact Us form will we ask for their name, so we know who to address in our reply. Even then, your child is not required to give his or her legal name. We do not provide any personally identifying information from users under the age of 13 (or of any age) to any third party for any reason whatsoever.

Parents and children should note that any personal information that a child (or anyone) chooses to disclose in their choice of username, in a blog, video or image description, or other interactive activities will be viewed and accessible by other users of the site. Children (or anyone, regardless of age) should not post any personally identifiable information including, without limitation, legal names, phone numbers, or email addresses, within their username, blogging community, video or image descriptions, or other interactive activities. Parents should talk to their children about not posting personal information in connection with their participation in these public and interactive activities on the MySportsmanship.com website. Parents should also be aware that their child's school name, city, and state will display when their MySportsmanship.com account is approved (pending receipt of the Parent Consent Form).
  • Parents and legal guardians may inquire as to personal information submitted by their child under the age of 13 by emailing us through the Contact Us form or writing to the mailing address at the bottom of this page. If there is indeed information in our files, parents and guardians may ask to have it deleted and ask to not allow further collection or use of the child's information.
